Hello, petal!
Hello, little flower!
I held a babe like you last night
And loved her.
With you
It was the other way round.
You came
Because you loved us.
Held us in the safety of your arms
From the beginning.
Blitzing the world with wonder.
Little Christ child,
You came a long way to save us.
Pushing through the darkness
Of the world,
Turning its opaque density into a starry firmament
Which set you about with stars
And angels.
Christ child.
Christmas rose.
Flower into my heart.
Let me love as I am loved by you.
Hello, petal!
You came a long way to save us,
With your starry angels joyfully singing,
Shaking out shepherds from quiet fields abiding,
And Magi from magical places appearing.
Then, us,
Kneeling.
I held a babe like you last night and loved her.
Little flower,
Love us for ever.
Christ child,
Welcome!
